Abstract

This project investigates the challenges being faced by science and engineering students of
Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti in carrying out experiments in the laboratories. It proffers a
solution to eliminate some of the challenges by fabricating an improved scientific glass
apparatus for water distillation. The project also highlights the significance of water
distillation to laboratories, the process of distillation and distillation rate, and the scientific
glass-working operations and techniques. The latter chapter discusses the materials and
methodology adopted for the apparatus fabricated. Moreover, conclusion was derived and
recommendation proffered.
