Section1:Name
ThisclubshallbecalledtheStaplesHighSchoolBassmasters,locatedinWestport,
Connecticut.
Section2:Purpose
Thepurposeofthisclubistostimulatepublicawarenessofbassfishingasamajorsport.Also,
toofferourstateconservationdepartmentourorganizedmoralandpoliticalsupportand
encouragement.Topromotefulladherencetoallconservationcodesandtodemandadequate
waterstandards.Toimproveourskillasbassanglersthroughafellowshipoffriendlyexchange
ofexpertbasscatchingtechniquesandideas,andtopromoteandencourageyouthfishingand
aloveforthisgreatrecreation.Tofunctionasadynamicandeffectivelinkwithotherclubsofthe
stateB.A.S.S.Nation,embracingtheprinciplesandpurposesofB.A.S.S..
ARTICLEIIMembership
Section1:NumberofMembers
Theclubshallbeginwithandmaintainatleastfourmembers.
Section2:RequirementforRegularMembership
Tobecomeaclubmember,apersonshall:
(a)Voluntarilyexpressagenuineinterestinmembership.
(b)Besignedupandattendatleastonemeeting.
(c)AttendStaplesHighSchool.
Section3:MeetingsofMembers
Themembershipshallholdregularmeetingsatpreestablishedtimes.
ARTICLEIIIOfficers,Elections,Vacancies,and
Eligibility
OfficersshallconducttheaffairsoftheclubinamannerconsistentwiththeseBylaws.The
StateB.A.S.S.NationBoardofDirectorsisrequiredtobecomprisedofmemberswhoarefree
toservetheStateanditsmemberswithoutaconflictofinterest.AnyStateBoardMemberor
StateOfficer,oranemployeeofanyotherB.A.S.S.federationtypeorganizationwillnotbe
permittedtoholdanofficewithintheB.A.S.S.Nationatanylevel,duetoanunfairadvantage.

Section1:OfficersandtheirDuties
Theofficersoftheclubshallconsistof:
(a)President:Presideoverallmeetingsanddirectallofficialbusiness.Appointandbeanex
officiomemberofallcommittees.Superviseallclubfunctions.
(b)VicePresident:Actasprogramchairman,assistthepresidentinhis/herdutiesandpreside
intheabsenceofthepresident.
(c)Secretary:Maintainaccurateminutesofallregularandspecialmeetingsascalledforbythe
clubpresident.MaintainregularliaisonbetweenyourclubandtheB.A.S.S.Nationandthe
stateB.A.S.S.Nationclub.
Section2:Elections
TheelectionofofficersshallbeheldannuallyataregularmeetingduringthemonthofJune.
Electionsshallbebysimplemajorityofmemberspresent.Electionforeachofficershallbeheld
separatelyintheorderlistedinARTICLEIII,Section1.
Section3:EligibilityofVote
Eachmemberisentitledtoonevote.Proxyvotesarenotpermitted.
Section4:TermofOffice
Thetermofofficeisforoneyear,whichshallbeginonthefirstmeetingdayoftheyear,andend
onthelastmeetingdayoftheyearoruntilthesuccessorassumesoffice.
Section5:Vacancies
Intheeventofanofficebecomingvacant,nominationsshallbeaskedforandanelectionheldto
filltheunexpiredtermoftheindividualvacatingtheoffice.
Section6:EligibilityforHoldingOffice
Tobeeligibleforanofficeamembermust:
(a)Havebeenamemberforonesemester.(Onesemestersrequirementwaivedduringfirst2
semestersofclubexistence.)
(b)Haveattendedatleast75%oftheclubmeetingsand75%ofclubfunctionsduringa2
semesterperiod.
(c)Haveshownanactiveinterestinallclubfunctions.
ARTICLEIVRemovalofMembership
Section1:RemovalofMembership
Membersmaybedroppedfromthemembershiprollforthefollowingreasons:
(a)Anyactionthatwouldreflectdishonoranddisgraceonthecluband/orB.A.S.S.Nation.
(b)Failuretoattend50%oftheclubmeetingsand50%ofclubfunctionsduringa2semester
period.
(c)DisqualificationforanyreasonfromparticipatinginB.A.S.S. sponsoredevents,including
disqualificationforuseofdrugsoralcohol.
ARTICLEVMethodofAmendingtheBylaws
Section1:AmendingtheBylaws
Thebylawsmaybeamendedatanyregularmeetingbyatwo thirdsvoteofthemembers
present,providedwrittennoticeoftheproposedamendmenthasbeenpresentedtothe
membershipatleastoneregularmeetingpriortothevote.
