    HOMICIDE

    At 12:52 am this date, our department was notified of a stabbing which occurred in the
    parking lot of Shenanigan’s Nightclub, located at 1548 11th Street.

    Officers and EMS personnel responded and located victim John Wayne McCrary, age 22,
    of Shepherd, TX with multiple stab wounds. McCrary was transported to Huntsville
    Memorial Hospital and subsequently transferred to Hermann Memorial in Houston.

    At about 8:00 am, investigators received word that McCrary had died during surgery.

    A security employee of the nightclub who heard the disturbance and responded reported
    that he observed two individuals running from the scene.

    Multiple witness interviews have been conducted and the investigation is ongoing.
