Peer Review for Movie Review Group
Our peer did a great job on the first draft. This group uses Prezi instead of
Power Point, which is attractive and catches our eyes at once. After the
presentation, we can understand exactly what the main point is. They introduce
many aspects and give fruitful examples. However, they still have some problems
we confused with. Like wise the logic, structure and design.
According to their presentation, they do have abundance of materials, such
as pictures, formula and form, which are persuasive. In the part of history, they
give us an example of Roger Ebert with an image of him, who is a well-known
film critic. Nevertheless, the connection between this man and the history they
mention before seems irrelevant and confused. Because it does have relation
between these materials, but the group better illustrate why this man plays an
important role in this history. Moreover, the group has a very creative idea,
which is the formula they give for the ranking system, which is called
Shawshank Redemption. This can be a good example, which we can understand
why it shows in this slide, but we still do not understand how it works.
Furthermore, the group introduces many aspects for movie review. For
instance, positive, negative impacts, contradictory, argument, Publication and
Profits. But in the audience part, the group only shows who is your audience
without any explanations, which we suggest they can add more, like what kinds

of audiences of it and the age group of audiences. After all, they have plenty of
examples and aspects, whereas they should clarify more and make them clearer.
Comes up to the design, although they use the fantastic new software Prezi
to display it, they have improvements in several parts. First, from the color, the
group picks a mountain background, which looks like camouflage color, and they
use black colored words on it, we think they should use bright color words on
dark color background and make more contrast on it. Second, they use too many
words in one slide, such as in the Movie review introduction, they put more
than 50 words in one page, which is a little messy. Thirdly, they do not have
outline at the very start of the Prezi, which we consider as the most important
thing for a presentation, outline can make presentation seem more organized
and clearly. This is also the same reason why we think their logic and structure
are unclear. We suggest if they can work more on it, it can be better.
About the citation part, they do not have citation in the Prezi, which they
should leave a space for citation at the end of the Prezi. Although they upload a
separate citation document in the blackboard later, they still need to add these in
the Prezi. We also believe that they should be more fluency during presentation,
be more familiar with what they going to talk about.
In conclusion, the group does well on the example part, but from the detail
part they still need pay more attention on it.
