Description of Instruction
1. Read story Flowers by Vijaya khisty Bodach. Show students parts of the flower
that are in the book.
2. Show students another flower on a poster and go over the parts of the flower.
3. Students will all go back to their seats from the carpet. To release the student back
to their seat I will tell three of them to go at a time that way they are not all running
over that together. Before releasing them I am going to explain what they have to
do when they get back to their seat. At each table there will be a bag at each seat
with different color play dough inside. Each student will need to make their own
flower using the play dough. At each seat there will also be a piece of paper and
that is where the flower need to be made on, as well as labeled on. All the flowers
need to include roots, stem, leaves, and petals. They will be instructed to set it
aside for it to dry on their piece of paper and then they can take them home.
4. To wrap things up we are going to go to the carpet and go over the parts of a
flower again. Have the students say the different parts of a flower.

Assessment
Formative:
Have a check list of all the students and while they are making their flowers make marks
according to what the students do and if they are able to follow directions. Make sure
they all have roots, stem, leaves, and petals.
Summative:
I will also be able to look at the finished product to see what they came up with. See if
