Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact

Rationale/Reflection
InTASC Standard:
Standard 3:
The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative
learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and selfmotivation.

Brief Description of Evidence:

As part of my Education 201, Technology in Education course during the summer semester of
2014, I created an Independent Technology Project Plan. This assignment was created for us to
venture out and create a lesson using technology. My project was all based upon a flipped
classroom and Skype. I had my students connect with local professionals via Skype and research
their professional based off flipped content.

Analysis of What I Learned:

I gained knowledge through this assignment by learning how to use technology within my
curriculum. I learned that I can actively engage with my learners and the community in a
different setting other than the classroom. I developed an account with Skype and learned how to
properly instruct my class on how to use this kind of technology. Technology I found is just one
of many ways that can help self- motivate students and encourage positive interaction.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC Standard:

My competence in this standard is proven by my ability to introduce a new technology
successfully with full understanding and encourage my students to interact with others within the
community. I provided numerous opportunities for my students to research content on their
professional and communicate with their peers daily. I strongly believe that my students will find
Skype and or any other communication with peers as their motivation. Providing something new
and challenging will motivate the students minds and motivate them to explore. Skype, flipped
content, and peers are all strong individual and collaborative content that I can use in a matter of
different ways.
