Learning Activity #1

Introduction
Greeting them as they come into the gym
Run 5 laps, 5 sit-ups and 5 pushups as their regular warm-up activity
Sit in circle when they are done

Does anyone know if passing during soccer is important?

When we pass a ball to a partner we want to keep the ball controlled

so we do not accidently hit our partner in the face with the ball
We are going to practice passing with a partner
Then we will play a game to practice everything we have learned this
week

We are going to do an activity called Partner Pass

Body
Partner Pass
I am going to number you number ones will stand on this line and
number twos will stand on this line
The person directly across from you is your partner that you will be
passing too
You kick the ball towards them and than they kick it back
The point is to kick it directly to your partner and gently so it doesnt
fly across the gym
Number the students off tell them which line they are going on

Observation of passing to a partner

Big Net Soccer Game with cones and passing
We are going to play a big net soccer game!
It will be a little bit different from when we played it before
This time I am adding pylons on either side, so I want you to practice
dribbling around pylons before you score a goal
I would also like you to practice passing to other players on your team
and when you get the ball I want to see you dribbling it between your
feet to move it
Can I get everyone who was a 1 to go to that wall and sit against the
wall
And everyone who was a 2 to go that wall and sit against it
Walk over to each side to ask which 4 want to be the goalies
Put pylons in the middle and balls in the middle and GO!
Observation observe during the game for passing, dribbling as they move
the ball and practice of dribbling around pylons
Line Soccer to let only two or four students in the middle to
practice
