Oral Presentation Guidelines

Guidelines/information:
1. Your presentation must be 6 - 8 minutes long (ensure that your presentation is no less
than 6 minutes. You will lose substantial marks for every 30 seconds you exclude)
2. Complete either a discussion or dramatization (see additional handout). You may
also come up with your own idea, such as an artistic representation of some aspect of
the play, but you must obtain my approval before you begin)
3. For both the discussion and the dramatization, you must encourage class
participation/engagement. The best way of doing this is by asking the class a
question at some point during the presentation.
4. The presentation is worth 20% of your mark
5. Everyone must be prepared to present on the due date
6. You must know your presentation. You may use cue cards for your lines, but you
must not read from them.
7. If you complete the discussion, you must create a powerpoint presentation with
ideas, key points, and images.
8. If you complete the dramatization, you must use props, costumes, sound effects,
and music.
9. Have fun with this!

Suggested Topics (both types of presentation must deal with one or more of these
topics in some way):
- Escape (and the impossibility of escape)
- Family
- Gender
- Love and relationships
- Reality (and its acceptance/denial)
- Memory / the past
