Key Objective: Introduce World War 2, Teach Students about major leaders and groups in WWII
NETS standard Met: Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate,
analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning
Key Activities: PowerPoint regarding beginning of the war, Go over a map to identify major places War
took place, Watch a short video in class summarizing the entire war

definitions.
Homework Assigned: 10 definitions due on Wednesday, October 15, Start reading World War 2 chapter
in assigned text.

Key Activities: Bell Ringer, We will split into groups of 4 in order to come up with reasons these countries
wanted to be communist and share with the class. End class with a short PowerPoint that highlights
these ideas.

to murder innocent people (Jews).

why this event took place

Key Activities: Bell Ringer, Teach students how to examine primary source documents like propaganda
during WWII. Use the Website http://www.pbs.org/thewar/media_gallery.php to show forms of
propaganda found around the world. Have students work in groups to examine propaganda they find
compelling and share results with the class
