Both the regions have received rains far below average.

Marathwada has received less than 25% of the average

rainfall. Condition of Western Vidarbha too is not very different. The government needs to declare these regions
as drought-affected immediately and help the farmers. The problem is so acute and has reached a level where in
it is predicted that the number of farmers who committed suicide in Maharashtra is more than the total number of
jawans killed while protecting the borders of India and people who have been victims of terrorist attacks.
