I. Objectives
What is the main focus of this lesson?
The main focus of this lesson is to review for the students. This review will cover all the lessons of the unit that incorporates
Economics, History, Geography, Culture, and Civics. There will also be a unit test that will include all of the threads/crossovers (The
test will include Public Discourse).
How does this lesson tie in to your Big Idea
This lesson ties into our big idea because it includes all crossovers/threads along with the theme of money.
What are your objectives for this lesson? (Students will be able to.) Indicate connections to applicable national or state
standards (glces). Indicate themes from any threads addressed in this lesson (ex-Geography-human environment interaction)
1) Students will be able to recall their prior knowledge of money.
2) Students will be able to participate in a game of Jeopardy and a unit test.
3) Students will be able to discuss in groups for the review game.

Students should have an understanding of bartering, trading, the history of money, some ideas
of wealth, currency, budgeting, importing, exporting, and some sort of conclusion/idea of our
public discourse debate.
Pre-assessment: Students will be able to recall their prior knowledge and what they remember
from the previous lessons.

Assessment
(formative and summative)

Formative assessment: This assessment will be a small assessment for the Jeopardy game. As
teachers: We will be able to understand how much the students remember from the previous
lessons. As students: They will be able to understand what they remember from the previous
lessons.
Summative assessment: The final assessment will include a unit test. Students will be graded
on their answers.

Economics:
Bartering- exchange of goods or services for other goods or services without the use
of money
Market economy- an economy in which decisions regarding investment, production
and distribution are based on supply and demand, and prices of goods and services are
determined in a free price system
History:
Paper money

Importing: something that is brought into a country.
Exporting: something that is sent out of the country.

Wealth: an abundance of valuable possessions or money.

Budget- an estimate of income and spending for a set period of time or for a specific
project.
Public Discourse:
Debate- a formal discussion on a particular topic.
Medicaid- the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for
people with low income in the United States.

For this lesson, we will need a projector to share the Jeopardy game on the screen/smart board
and the unit test for students.

For students who may have a learning disability: I will ask students to make sure they work
with everyone as a unit.
Opportunities for differentiation

For students who might not participate enough: encourage them to be the teams spokes
person.
For students who struggle with tests: students will make accommodations if necessary to take
the test in another room or extra time.

For motivation, students will be able to participate in a Jeopardy Game. This will be a review for the
students over the past six lessons (Economics, History, Geography, Culture, and Civics. Public
Discourse will be included later in the lesson).

Rules:

Development

Students will be split up into two different groups.


Rules will be similar to the real game of Jeopardy.
Students will not be allowed to call out answers or talk while it is the other teams turn.
Points will be kept track on the chalk/white board.
If students call out when it is not their turn, they will loose a point.

Students will be able to take a unit test that will include mainly application and reflection along with
Public Discourse.
