Thread/crossover
Students should have an understanding of bartering, trading, the history of money, some ideas
of wealth, currency, budgeting, importing, exporting, and some sort of conclusion/idea of our
public discourse debate.
Pre-assessment: Students will be able to recall their prior knowledge and what they remember
from the previous lessons.
Assessment
(formative and summative)
Formative assessment: This assessment will be a small assessment for the Jeopardy game. As
teachers: We will be able to understand how much the students remember from the previous
lessons. As students: They will be able to understand what they remember from the previous
lessons.
Summative assessment: The final assessment will include a unit test. Students will be graded
on their answers.
Geography:
Importing: something that is brought into a country.
Exporting: something that is sent out of the country.
Culture:
Wealth: an abundance of valuable possessions or money.
Currency: a system of money in general use in a particular country.
Civics:
Budget- an estimate of income and spending for a set period of time or for a specific
project.
Public Discourse:
Debate- a formal discussion on a particular topic.
Medicaid- the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for
people with low income in the United States.
For this lesson, we will need a projector to share the Jeopardy game on the screen/smart board
and the unit test for students.
For students who may have a learning disability: I will ask students to make sure they work
with everyone as a unit.
Opportunities for differentiation
For students who might not participate enough: encourage them to be the teams spokes
person.
For students who struggle with tests: students will make accommodations if necessary to take
the test in another room or extra time.
