These instructions will describe the method to carry out a software
upgrade to your LCD Television. Please make sure you read the
document fully before attempting the procedure.
Failure to adhere to the following may cause mis-operation of the
product.

Before you start make sure you have:

A 9-pin Serial port available on your PC or Laptop
The Supplied serial Cable
Samsung CD with the required files for your model of TV

GETTING STARTED
1. Place the TV into Standby Mode and plug the jack of the supplied
cable into the Rear panel of the television marked service

2. Plug the other end of the cable into the 9-pin serial socket of your PC
or Laptop computer.

INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE

3. Insert the CD into the PC or laptop. It should automatically start and
display the install window.
(If the disc fails to start then double click on the file named setup12.exe on
the disc)

Click on YES to continue

Click NEXT to continue

Click NEXT to continue

7.

Click NEXT to continue

8.

Click NEXT to continue

9.

Click INSTALL to continue

10.

Click NEXT to continue

11.

Click FINISH to complete

12. The Downloader programme will now start automatically

(If it does not start then double click on the desktop icon ROME FLASH
DOWNLOADER)

13. Click on the OPEN button

14. Locate the new update file by selecting your CD Rom Drive letter.
(Usually this is the D Drive but can be any letter from D through to Z)

15. Double click on the upgrade file Rome2.mot

16. Click the CONNECT button

17. Trying to Connect is displayed

18. Press the POWER button on the remote control

(The Standby LED will flash several times but no picture will appear)

19. Press the PROGRAM AND VERIFY button

20. The upgrade process will now commence and should take around 3 or
4 minutes to complete

21: Upgrade Process & Verification complete

22. Unplug the set from the mains and remove the jack from the
SERVICE socket

23. Insert the mains plug again and the set will power on automatically

YOUR TV HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED
