1.Introduction
Theadventofhighrisebuildingsinmoderncitiesrequireshighspeedelevatorsystemstoprovide
quickaccesswithinbuildings.Buildingsover500mposinganincreasingdemandforthedevelopment
ofaultrahighspeedelevator.TheelevatorsintheShanghaiTowercancarry80peopleatonceand
travelatmorethan37mph(60km/hor1,000metersaminute)from

Elevatorsystemsaretypicalexamplesforcomplexmechanicalsystemsandmayconsistofthree
