Q3.(a) A line passes through (2,2) and is perpendicular to the line 3x+y = 3.

Its y-intercept
is :
we can put y=3-3x from the given equation
The slope of y=3-3x is: -3
The negative reciprocal of that slope is:

m = -1/-3= 1/3

So the perpendicular line will have a slope of 1/3:

y - y1 = (1/3)(x - x1)
And now put in the point (2,2):
y - 2 = (1/3)(x - 2)

let's also putting it in y=mx+b form:

y - 2 = x/3 - 2/3
y = x/3 - 6/3
y= x/3 - 2

Q3.(b) tan(/20) tan(3/20) tan(5/20) tan(7/20) tan(9/20) =

=tan(9) tan(27) tan(45) tan(63) tan (81)
=tan(9) tan(90-63) tan(45) tan(63) tan(90-81)
as tan x = 1/cot x , tan(90-x)=cot x and tan(45) =1
= 1/cot(9) cot(63) 1 1/cot(63) cot(9)
cancelling commons we get
=1
