OTHER MEASURES
Some people believe that the GDP and the HDI
leave out important aspects of prosperity.
For example: The King of Bhutan created the
Gross National Happiness index in 1972.
Focused on the inner happiness and wellbeing of a people in a country.
He wants to keep Bhutans own cultural identity.

Continuous economic growth leads to greater
prosperity for everyone in a country, but because
so many countries are trying to achieve the same
goal, competition is fierce.
Economic globalization has contributed to an
increase in some countries GDP, but has it
contributed to sustainable prosperity?
Economic growth and living standards depends a
lot on the success of businesses in a country. For
example: Canadian business pays 25-40% of
profit in taxes to the government
