Job Description:
Pediatricians are doctors that assist patients that are babies, children,
and adolescents. They must have the sufficient medical knowledge and
understand the variety of treatments affecting the progressive growth
stages. They treat all types of infectious childhood diseases, minor
injuries and immunizations. They must keep track and manage
immunizations on time. They must communicate with the children and
parents by providing detailed instructions for certain medication.

Work Environment:
Many pediatricians work in their own offices or in clinics and
hospitals. They generally have assistants, nurses or physicians
helping with them with their patients. They also work full time. They
may travel between offices and hospitals to assist their patients.
Also any patient may call their physician for an emergency visit at
any time day or night.

You can graduate with a
bachelors degree in physics at
Johns Hopkins University on
four years. It is a great
undergraduate program to
enroll into medical school. In
order to enroll into Johns
Hopkins, it is necessary to
complete these following
courses in High school: 4 years
of English, 2 years of social
studies, 4 years of foreign
language, 2 years of history, 4
years of math and science.

Educational Requirements:
In order to become any a pediatrician, you must be dedicated and
passionate for this career. It takes four years of undergraduate
school then you must attend four years of medical school. Then
after those eight years are completed, you must complete 3-8 years
of residency or internship programs depending on your specialty.
All of this training takes time but in order to follow this career path
you must have patience and especially dedication to your work.

Salary:
Pediatricians roughly make
$170,530 per year. Although it
may take many years of
training and education for this
career but the annual wage
helps to pay it off.

Job Outlook:
This career is expected to increase 18% that is faster than all average profession. This field will
always increase because a pediatrician will always be needed in any city or town. It will always
grow because health care related industries will always expand. Pediatricians will be more
prosperous if they work in rural and low income areas because there are fewer doctors there.

Choice of Career:

I decided researching this career because I love helping children. Also it has been a dream of
mine to become a doctor and become the first doctor in my family. This career is the best
choice for me because becoming a pediatrician has been a dream of mine since I could
remember. I would like to become a pediatrician because I enjoy helping children and
providing medical attention. Also the salary is high and this career will always be
prosperous. A pediatrician will always be needed in any town or city. Although it may take
about eight or more years of education and training but I am willing to dedicate myself to
achieve my life goal.
