Configuration of ZTE ZXDSL Router for Biz-DSL with Routed

(MER) mode.
Biz-DSL circuite.g.

Subs LAN IP

- 192.168.4.1

Subnet Mask

- 255.255.255.0

Subs WAN IP block

- 172.35.35.44/30

SLT Side

- 172.35.35.45

Customer side

- 172.35.35.46

WAN subnet mask

- 255.255.255.252

These IPs are assigned by IP-VPN section.

Note :Turn the Windows firewall off on the PC.

Disable the Proxy Server in the Internet Explorer.
Contact the IP-NOC to Activate the DSL circuit.
Set the PC network card IP settings as,

Log on to the Router Configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 on

Adddress bar. Router Log-in User Name & Password is admin

Go to Advanced.

Go to WAN ------- Connections. (Existing connections will be displayed.)

Delete all the existing connections and now can see as follows.

Now add a new connection by click on ADD button. Then appears,

Enter the VPI and VCI values as 8 & 40 , Service Category as UBR
WITHOUT PCR, and click on NEXT.
Now appears as follows,

Select the Protocol as MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER) and

Encapsulation as LLC/SNAP, click on NEXT.
Then,

Enter the WAN IP Address as

172.35.35.46

WAN Subnet Mask as

255.255.255.252

Default Gateway as

172.35.35.45

Primary DNS Server as 203.115.0.46 (This is Just to complete the

configuration page)

Then click Next and connection summary appears as

Click on FINISH to make the settings permanent. Then router restarts

automatically.

Go to Firewall and set the IP Filter Disable.

Go to Management Remote Access and enable all services by ticking

them.

Go to Advanced ------- LAN

Change the Primary IP Address as

Subnet Mask as

192.168.4.1
255.255.255.0

Click Apply to Save the Settings. And Reboot the Router manually.
Now change the PC network card IP as specified for the Biz-DSL circuit.
DNS are not necessary. Here Default Gateway is 192.168.4.1.

Check for DSL signal Synchronization.

Now Ping the WAN IPs in Command prompt to check the VPN connectivity.
e.g.

Ping 192.168.4.1

(Router IP)

Ping 172.35.35.46

(Customer Side WAN IP)

Ping 172.35.35.45

(SLT Side WAN IP)

Both WAN IPs are reachable if the circuit is working properly.
