This Weeks Highlights

Dear Parents,
We are excited to have passed the 100th day of
school! As we move along in second grade, remember to
continue to practice previously taught and current skills
with your child at home. A great way to practice these
skills is through the computer lab link on the school website
and/or any other websites that your childs teacher has on
their personal pages. These sites include skills in all
subject areas as well as fact fluency. Even if your child is
doing well on their fact fluency checks, this is a great way
to keep them moving forward. A fluent background in
addition and subtraction is critical.
While our next chapter in math is both money and
time, we will be starting with money, and a great way to
expose children and build background for these skills is
through hands-on learning. So, if you can, break open those
piggy banks and allow students to count money, learn values
of the coins, and ask questions.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please
do not hesitate to call or write. We are here for you!
