STEPPING UP in Cardiff

Introductory Workshops
AIM

WORKSHOP CONTENT

To work with community members, and

representatives of community groups in order
to raise awareness of the opportunities and
benefits of developing independent, sustainable
community organisations to deliver local public
services and to run community buildings.

The workshops will be a mixture of presentations and

informal discussions covering the following topic areas:

OBJECTIVES

Introducing the Changes for Cardiff Programme.

Highlighting the opportunities in stepping up.
What to think about when developing a quality
project.
Explaining the process from ideas to reality.

The workshops will:

Pointing out sources of support.

Raise awareness of opportunities for involvement

in service delivery.

Identifying and handling the challenges.

Explain the process for stepping up to deliver.

Highlight different approaches to developing a
project and building your organisation.
Point you towards sources of support.
Explore the challenges to be overcome.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The workshop will be focussed on practical support
and will be of interest to community members or
representatives of community groups or organisations
who are interested in managing a service or building
in Cardiff.

HOW DO I BOOK A PLACE ON THE WORKSHOP?

Places are limited and must be booked prior to the events to secure attendance. Please note that places
will be allocated on a first come first served basis and organisations will be limited to 2 representatives. To
attend, please complete the booking form and return to steppingup@cardiff.gov.uk as soon as possible.
