Abstract
To support the performance of an internet connected network using more than one
ISP, a dynamic system is needed for the network management. Such as connection
management with the capability managing the traffic that goes through the multiple
ISPs efficiently, as well as the capability to troubleshoot common problems
effectively with no direct action from the network manager. This study is about
solving these problems by applying method of load balancing with the combination
of failover system. By using MikroTik router as gateway for the local network and
multiple ISPs, connections to the Internet is then processed using per-connectionclassifier method to spread the network traffic among the ISPs, followed with the
failover method which take advantage of the nexthop resolving characteristic done
by the router using static routing, thus the system is capable of managing traffic and
troubleshooting problems in the ISP line automatically and dynamically of giving a
solution for such network condition mentioned earlier. (AE,BP,ES)

ABSTRAK
Untuk menunjang kinerja jaringan dengan koneksi Internet lebih dari satu ISP,
dibutuhkan sistem yang mampu mengelola jaringan tersebut secara lebih dinamis.
Seperti manajemen koneksi yang dapat mengelola traffic pada jalur ISP secara
efisien dan kemampuan untuk menanggulangi masalah yang umum terjadi secara
efektif tanpa adanya tindak lanjut secara langsung dari pengelola jaringan. Penelitian
ini membahas solusi permasalahan tersebut dengan menerapkan metode load
balancing dengan kombinasi sistem failover. Dengan menggunakan router MikroTik
sebagai gateway untuk jaringan lokal dengan jumlah ISP ganda, koneksi ke Internet
yang dijalin oleh host pada LAN diolah dengan metode per-connection classifier
untuk melakukan pembagian beban ke beberapa ISP tersebut, dipadu dengan
metode failover yang memanfaatkan karakteristik pencarian nexthop yang dilakukan
oleh router dengan static routing, sehingga menjadi sebuah sistem yang dapat
mengelola traffic dan melakukan penanganan masalah pada jalur ISP secara
dinamis dan otomatis. (AE,BP,ES)
