Course Description:
This course is designed to meet the needs of those that know the very basics of the computer and
want to continue to grow in how to use the computer with ease. The class will delve into the
fundamentals of using the Windows Operating System, how to effectively surf the web, and
highlight Microsoft Office 2013 programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Create a Name Tag, a professional Flyers and business cards
2. Create Newspaper Articles
3. Create Tables (insert and delete rows and columns)
4. Create Tables, Use Math Formulas, and Draw on Tables
5. Create Excel Documents and Use Formulas, Cell Ranges
6. Create a PowerPoint presentation
7. Deliver a PowerPoint Presentation
Student Resources: Textbook Required: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
(Step-by-Step Instruction.

Evaluation: Students must attend a minimum of 80% of the total course hours in addition
to successfully completing all course competencies in order to receive a certificate of
completion. Reviews will be provided.

Class Information:
1. Each week, we will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 noon
2. Class sessions will not be repeatedunless it is a review.
