5. Our world-wide Church Ethics


Committee had issued a statement on
Transgenderism and other issues of
sexuality. The BRI Newsletter issue
49 is available at the foyer for you to
take and read.
6. The 22nd CHIP program will begin on February 16th
to March 12th. Information sessions are
January 28th and February 2nd at 7:00
PM in the church fellowship hall. If you or
someone you know could benefit from
this program please come to the free
information session. For more

7. The Annual Budget Business meeting
held last Sabbath, February 24, while
noting increase of giving, voted to keep

the annual 2015 Budget the same as in 2014, $54,000, due to the
reason that some of the contributing members have moved to the new
church plant. The estimated budget for the church plant is $14,000.
Having recovered from flooding problem and installing the new HVAC
system, the renovation of the fellowship hall and kitchen is
acknowledged as the urgent necessity, pending research on possible
expansion costs. Church members also prioritized among many
important projects.
Listed are the top seven goals.
1. Video-recording and broadcasting equipment to take our church
on line with good quality content.
2. Young adults ministry, reconnecting with young adults who had
left the church
3-4. Developing plans for a multipurpose facility to accommodate the
School by 2020, meanwhile increasing enrolment and involving
more children from the church.
5. Increase Sabbath School attendance, have a mission
project and involve members in classes.
6. Small Groups and House Churches in every
neighbourhood.
7. Developing Family Life ministry further to provide
counselling for families.
More dialogues are needed as leadership team will strategize to
include these plans in the overall Big Picture of evangelism.

youth speaker pastor Edsel Cadet from Brooklyn, New
York. All students are welcome! Despite what society
may have you believe, determining your worth goes far
beyond your grades, achievements, looks, income,
popularity, or the number of likes you get. As we struggle
through school trying to "make something of ourselves",
and our generation pressures us to prove our value to
others through social media, it is ever more important that
we understand our true worth, and where it comes from.

and includes all meals on site. The registration deadline is
Friday, February 6. The event is for all College/University
and Grade 12 students planning for College. It is an event
organized annually to support Adventists pursuing
education in Non-Adventist College and university
campuses. Our church will provide 50% sponsorship
towards registration, and free transportation to Camp
Frenda in Muskoka. If interested, speak to pastor Alex.

Building Community of Peace in Prayer

We continue Wednesday nights praying for the Fruit of the Spirit,


Love, which is Joy, Peace, and more.This past Wednesday Lo
Richards led in prayer for the Peace, with special emphasis that the true
peace if given by God.
Being careless and worry free is not peace. The Biblical concept of
peace, shalom, is the wholeness, completeness, integrity, balance - to
sum it up: nothing is amiss, resulting in harmony. Psalmist says Great
peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to
stumble. (Ps. 119:165)
On Wednesday I got a number of unusual text messages, informing
me that it was a mental health emphasis day. My first reaction was are
you hinting something?, do I need to go and seek help? Then one text
message explained that Bell will donate five cents toward mental health in
Canada. I got prompts to mention to the church the importance of mental
health, then I checked the calendar and learned that Mental Health
emphasis month is in May, and it has been so designated since 1949.
So, I am loosing my peace and will communicate more on this by May.
However, as I got thinking, peace and soul prosperity is of utmost
importance for total health.
3rd John 2 apostle is saying that we prosper and are in health as our
soul is well. How well is your soul? We sing:
When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to know,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Is your soul well? How is your mental and emotional health?
Peace is not something we can persuade ourselves of, or
manufacture, or enforce. True Peace is above our understanding, it
comes from God and guards our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:6-7).
Thats why we pray for the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, the Defender, the
Peace Maker to come, to abide, to dwell in us. When the Love of God is
poured into our hearts (Romans 5:5) we experience peace of being
reconciled with God. Being reconciled to God we become ambassadors
of reconciliation. (2nd Corinthians 5:18-20) Being at peace we carry
peace with us into lives of others, peacemakers, peacekeepers of God.
We pursue peace with all people, which is true holiness without which we
cannot see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). The fruit of righteousness is sown
in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:18)
Pray for peace in hearts of people you know, and your own, and claim
this promise for your own mental health: You (GOD!) will keep him in
perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
(Isaiah 26:3)
