An application of Big Data Analytics and SAP Solution in Cement Industry

(With reference to Production Planning)

Abstract
Follow the unique experience of Cement Industry with the future executives of Management
Institutes. Academic institutional career is MBA course in management institute before entering
in to any Industry. The case study is a small step in bridging the gap between the industry and
management institute. Industry means where products are manufactured and services are
provided. Management institute means a place where theoretical academic input in various areas
of business administration is imparted to MBA students. First read the theoretical aspects or
model of the management process, information system, decision making in organization, and
then understand about the actual solution in implementing the SAP production planning module
in 11 Integrated Cement Plants and 3 Cement Grinding Units across the country. Here, collection
of Big Data from all the business processes was a real challenge before the organization. Lastly,
the benefits that could be accrued by processing huge data from SAP Module are highlighted.

SAP is the name of the company founded in 1972 under the German name (English acronym
Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing) is the leading ERP (Enterprise Resource
Planning) software package which is becoming popular across the globe in many organizations.
While implementing SAP solution, various business processes of an organization are studied. In
this process big data is collected through templates then configured, analyzed & understood
through SAP. It, facilitates Business operations in decision making. This real case study is
focused with reference to Production Planning (PP-Module) only together with other related
modules of Business such as FICO, SD, PC, PM, MM.
