Motivation
The employees are encouraged to take initiatives to learn new skills on their own (intrinsically).
They also have chances to try doing different tasks in the company. This can prevent them from a
monotonous and unhappy working environment.
According to the HRM, only about 50% of the company staffs have a strong sense of
responsibility, accountability and are proactive in their work. This might be due to unclear goals
that they must achieve. Further to the interview, it was said that only senior legal secretaries are
given a target from their billing and this is counted towards their bonus remuneration. Face-toface recognition or appreciation has never been shown to the employee even though they might
have met the companys targets or demands. This is usually done without the knowledge of the
staff which is among the MPs and HRM. This might make the employees less eager to work as
no reward or compensation is given.
Training and courses offered by the company would expose its employees to vast knowledge or
it would enhance their current skills. This in return, will increase the employees self-confidence
and they would be more determined to work. Better qualifications and trainings can also increase
their chances of promotions. Also, some of the employees are given a chance to guide and train
their colleagues. This will further create a sense of responsibility in them and can lead to the
company having a more efficient and productive human resource.
The law firms employees can de-stress themselves during team-building activities and festive
gatherings (Hari Raya and Chinese New Year). These activities promote teamwork and the
employers can get to know each other better, creating a positive environment and feel happier to
work.
