With regards to the student of knowledge acting upon his knowledge,
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al Uthaymeen rahimahullaah
comments: Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al Uthaymeen rahimahullaah a ra li dn gii v vn ngi hc tr ca kin thc hnh ng da trn s hiu bit ca anh ta nh sau: Therefore it is a must that (he) act upon what he has knowledge of because if he does not act upon his knowledge he becomes from the first of those who will be burned by the Fire on the Day of Resurrection: Cho nn, bt buc (anh ta) phi thc hnh/hnh ng da trn nhng kin thc m anh ta c c bi v nu anh ta khng thc hnh da trn kin thc ca anh ta, anh ta tr thnh nhng ngi u tin s b thiu t bi la ngn vo Ngy Phc Sinh The scholar who does not act upon his knowledge Will be punished before the worshippers of idols Ngi hc gi khng hnh ng da trn kin thc ca anh ta S b trng pht trc c nhng k tn th tng thn This is one aspect - if he does not act upon his knowledge, it will result in disappointment regarding the knowledge, and no barakah (blessing), and nisyaan (forgetfulness) of the knowledge And therefore it was reported from Imaam Alee radi Allaahu anhu that he said: Knowledge calls out for action, so either it is responded to or else it departs So what is it that departs? Knowledge, and this is something clear because if you act upon (your) knowledge, you will remember it each time you act. y l mt kha cnh nu anh ta khng hnh ng da trn kin thc ca mnh, iu ny s dn n hu qu ca vic chn nn, tht vng v kin thc, v khng c barakah (n phc), v cn dn n nisyaan (s qun lng) v kin thc V v th, c tng thut t Imaam Alee radi Allaahu anhu rng ng ni: Kin thc i hi hnh ng, hoc l n (kin thc) c hng ng, nu khng th n s sao lng Th s sao lng y l g? L kin thc, v iu ny qu r rng bi v nu anh hnh ng da trn kin thc (ca mnh), anh s nh n mi khi anh thc hin. And I will strike an example for you that of a man who knows the description of the salaat (prayer) from the Sunnah. So he begins to act
upon it whenever he prays. Will he forget what he has learned? He will
not forget because he keeps on repeating it. However if he were to leave off acting upon it, he would forget. V ti ly mt v d cho cc bn rng c mt ngi n ng bit c cch m t Salaat (dng l nguyn) theo Sunnah. Th l anh ta bt u lm theo mi khi anh ta dng l nguyn. Anh ta s qun nhng g anh ta hc c hay khng? Anh ta s khng qun bi v anh ta c lp i lp li n. Tuy nhin nu anh ta t b vic thc hnh ny, anh ta s qun. And this is an evidence which can be perceived (by us) that acting upon knowledge necessitates firmness upon (that) knowledge, and that (the person) does not forget it. V y l mt bng chng chng ta c th lnh hi c rng hnh ng da trn kin thc i hi s vng vng v kin thc y, v (ngi thc hnh) s khng qun lng n i.
