Hazard
Kettle with trailing cord
There is a cat coming into the
room
There is a bee coming into the
kitchen
Consequence
A child could pull on the cord and drag the kettle of hot water down on themselves.
The cat could jump onto the stove and splash hot liquid/food everywhere
The bee could die in your food, and when you eat, you could possibly eat the bee
If the pot was glass it could crack and cause harm by cutting someone, and water could
spill and wet the floor
If the food is overheated or something, then no one is there to turn off the stove, causing
a fire or something
A child/animal could be in that room and play with the match sticks which could also start
a fire
This is also unattended and could be the same scenario as the stove
It is unhygienic for food to be left out especially when there is a cat and bee in the room
Same scenario as above, and the juice could go off because its not in the fridge
The cat could knock the jam and there will be glass and jam spilled everywhere
The cat could catch the knife and hurt itself, or if a baby is in the room the baby can do
the same thing
12
If a child gets to that cupboard than is could swallow chemicals or get some in its eyes
Food is put in the fridge to stay cool, but if the fridge is opened than the food could go
bad e.g. stale
If the iron is on a child could go into the kitchen and just burn themselves from the heat
Task 3: - Using the Rules for the Food Technology Room below,
create a poster, using Microsoft Word, that can be used in the
