November 17, 2014
To Whom It May Concern,
1am writing this letter of recommendation for Julie Pellegrini, who is currently completing her student teaching
requirements in my classroom. My name is Michelle Odle and | am a kindergarten teacher at Sutter Elementary School.
| have taught kindergarten for the past 9 years. | have also taught first, second, and third grade for the past 21 years.
Julie started her student teaching in my classroom in the middle of October to complete a 10 week placement for
National University’s Credential Program.
Julie is an exemplary teacher candidate. | have found Julie to be dedicated, patient, flexible, hard-working, responsible,
reliable, and professional. She voluntarily spends several hours each day after school preparing for upcoming lessons
and planning further units of study in multiple subjects. She attends staff meetings and professional development
opportunities to further her learning. Julie has highly effective classroom management and has successfully created a
respectful and caring classroom community. She builds strong connections and relationships with both students and
parents. She is well-liked by the students and very approachable, forthcoming, and responsive with the parents.
Julie has all the makings for a successful elementary school teacher. She is being exposed teaching readers and writers
workshop. She plans and delivers differentiated instruction in reading and writing to meet the varied needs of the
students in our class. She is also attempting interactive read aloud and shared reading. She has gained experience in
conducting formal assessments to guide her teaching instruction and assist in planning future lessons. Julie also works
hard to plan small group instruction tailored to the needs of our most struggling students. Furthermore, she interacts
and directs parent volunteers that assist in our classroom with respect and finesse.
Julie has my highest recommendation to be hired as an elementary school teacher. She will truly be an asset to any
teaching staff. She prefers teamwork, strives to reach all students, and is always looking for ways to better her teaching.
Moreover, Julie has had opportunities to solve a variety of behavior issues as well as work with a large number of English
language learners and special education students whose needs are vast and different. She was successful on all fronts.
am happy to be more specific about Julie’s teaching experience in my classroom, if you need more information. You
