BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Before planning a lesson, we must explore the physical setting of the classroom, students characteristics,
content and material required for teaching a lesson. Lets explore what background information we require for
planning a lesson? From where can we obtain it? And how can we use that information to guide our teaching?
KNOW YOUR CLASSROOMS PHYSICAL SETTING

Recall the setting of the classroom, where you were teaching/ studying and discuss the classroom setting
with each other. Select one classroom from your group discussion and draw a sketch of the classroom
(you can include black/white-boards size and placement; seating arrangement; number of students;
classroom furniture; chalk/marker box, etc.)

lesson planning?

First of all I will select a

content and then topic. Then I
will read a content written on
the book. I will go through
different books and their

information to guide your lesson

planning?

After knowing the classroom

setting I would make my
lesson plan according to it.
An activities can be in group
or pair. If something I need
to do then I would try to take
them to garden or to some
other room ( if it is empty).

I will plan my leom know to

unknown so that lesson
according to their prior
knowledge. I will paln a
lesson from known to
unknown so that they dont
get confuse of a new topic.
And yes the activities would
be according to classroom
