CLASS PROJECT
Member of a Special Project Group. The special project group is currently building a fish made of
wooden sticks, thin plastic shell coverings, and servo motors filled with helium while being covered in
mylar film. The fish is being created because it was chosen by the head Professor that is in charge of the
group. The group also chose to build a flying fish because the group thought it would be acceptable to
build and observe fly around. The fish is going to fly around outside a pond by itself while being powered
by servo motors and helium. It will benefit other projects in the future because if it is successful, then
other projects like it can be funded. I am not a lead in the project but I plan to be a lead as it progresses. It
ties into engineering because engineers are building it and it combines all the subgroups of engineering
together into one big project.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
The Boeing Company
Summer Intern

Huntsville, Alabama
June/2014 (start) July/2014 (end)

Responsible for watching and observing professional engineers in a professional work environment. This
internship allowed me to shadow other professionals in their everyday work environment. I went to meetings
with professionals and observed their styles and procedures of how they work and communicate with each
other on a daily basis. I didnt do actual work, but I gained real professional experience by going through the
same procedures other professionals went through every day. I received a badge like everyone else and a
desk with a computer.

Responsible for the building and creation of electrical circuits on a breadboard. I learned the layout of an
electrical breadboard and received an overview on how to create, build, and correctly wire electrical circuits.
I did not job shadow when I was building circuits, but I received an electrical breadboard from another
engineer. I built the circuits by myself without any help. At the same time I learned how the parts of a circuit
worked and how to wire a circuit correctly. By completing this Internship, I received valuable experience of
working at a professional Engineering firm and learned how to build and wire electrical circuits.
