III. Service History:

Standard:
Served with the Tirolian Border Fleets and the Regular Zentraedi
forces from 1831 onwards.
Gluuhaug-, Serauhaug-, Del-:
Served with the Tirolian Border Fleets and the Regular Zentraedi
forces from 1839 onwards.
IV. Propulsion:
All versions:

Note: all plasma-shock expansion engines draw their plasma from a

single fusion pile.

Two Varredoush type 10 plasma-shock expansion engines in

rotating mounts. The thruster are located to the sides of the
main body and have a maximum burst output of 230 kN and a
maximum sustained output of 155 kN.
Two Varredoush type 9 plasma-shock expansion thruster systems
in the calf. Each thruster has a maximum output of 48 kN.
Secondary exhausts in the feet can generate a ground effect air
cushion under the mecha, enabling it to glide forward at low
altitude if the terrain is remarkable even.
Assorted maneuvering thrusters, fed from the main engines, are
spread out over the mecha.
Fuel Capacity: 12 Standard Canisters of Protoculture.

V. Performance:

Regult (standard):
Maximum running speed : 282 kph.
Maximum jumping distance in Earth-normal conditions: 120
meters.
Average cell duration : 200 hours continuous operational use.
Delta-v capacity : 2.7 kps on graphite reaction mass.
Gluuhaug Regult:
Maximum running speed (full missile load): 144 kph.
Maximum running speed (empty missile containers): 193 kph.
Maximum jumping distance in Earth-normal conditions: 110
meters.
Average cell duration : 200 hours continuous operational use.
Delta-v capacity : 2.5 kps on graphite reaction mass.
Regult Serauhaug:
Maximum running speed (full missile load): 128 kph.
Maximum running speed (empty missile containers): 193 kph.
Maximum jumping distance in Earth-normal conditions: 100
meters.
Average cell duration : 200 hours continuous operational use.
Delta-v capacity : 2.4 kps on graphite reaction mass.
Del Regult:
Maximum running speed : 225 kph.
Maximum jumping distance in Earth-normal conditions: 110
meters.
Average cell duration : 200 hours continuous operational use.
Delta-v capacity : 2.5 kps on graphite reaction mass.

VI. Electronics:

All versions:
Radar tracking:
VBPS1-SS(*) hull conformal phased array with spherical
coverage, for various scan/track, battlefield surveillance and
counterbattery options.
Optical tracking:
VBPS1-SS Multi-band digital camera system, for medium range
all attitude infra-red imaging, optical and ultra-violet band
detection and tracking.
VBPS1-SS Multi-frequency laser ranger and designator.
Tactical Electronic Warfare System (TEWS):
VBPS1-SS Radar Warning Receiver (RWR)
VBPS1-SS Infra-red Warning Receiver (IRWR)
VBPS1-SS Active sensor jammer
VBPS1-SS Chaff and flare dispenser
Del Regult only:
VBPS1-SSa(*) in addition to the VBPS1-SS. The VBPS1-SSa
replaces the entire armament with additional (identical) sensor
equipment. The extra sensors include a large ISAR radar system,
a short range variable-frequency LIDAR system, broad-spectrum
EM scanners, seismic sensors, and additional data links and
processing capability.
(*) Terran designation. The Tirolian designers considered the sensors
part of the design and did not assign separate designations for these
systems.
VII. Armament:
Standard, Gluuhaug and Serauhaug versions:
2 x Makral Martszur-4 (also known under the Terran
designation of PB-10) four-barreled rotary particle beam

cannons:

Mounted on the upper chest. The sub-barrels can each fire a

particle beam of 2.5 MJ every second, all can be fired in parallel,
for maximum localized damage, or in series for increased
chances of a hit.
2 x Moldile Tszan-83 (also known under the Terran designation
of AC-L) 22.3mm autocannons in the chin of the mecha. Each
cannon can rotate 150 degrees and elevate from -70 degrees to
+60 degrees. The cannon fires caseless armor-piercing (AP) or
(more commonly) fragmentation (FRAG) rounds rounds at 850
rpm. The ammunition supply is 2000 rounds.
Regult (standard) only):
2 x Karatszon Quillo-152 (also known under the Terran
designation of PL-3) pulse lasers directly on top of the main
body. The lasers can rotate 360 degrees and elevate from -10
degrees to +85 degrees. Each laser can fire a maximum of 3.5 MJ
each second in five to ten separate pulses.

Gluuhaug Regult only:

2 x Touwhaug Rasilszt-9 missile launchers.

These launchers can replace the Karatszon Quillo-152 pulse

lasers of a standard Regult pod. Each missile launcher carries 24
Gerluj Touwhaug, Gluuk Awhaug or Vlwheralt Awhaug
(codenamed Miff, Megrim or Morgoth by the RDF) missiles, or a
combination of these.

Serauhaug Regult only:

2 x Touwhaug Rasilszt-10 missile launchers.

These launchers can replace the Karatszon Quillo-152 pulse

lasers of a standard Regult pod. Each missile launcher carries 2
Seraum (codenamed Moloch by the RDF) missiles.

Del Regult version:

None

VIII. Armor:
The armor of the Regult is composed of an advanced titanium-steel
alloy. The armor stops all small arms and heavy infantry weapons fire,
but provides only poor resistance to light mecha-mounted weaponry,
such as the Zentraedi 22.3mm HE autocannon round, and virtually no
resistance to medium mecha-mounted weaponry, such as the
Valkyrie's 55mm APFSDS round.
The Regult provides full protection from nuclear, biological, and
chemical hazards, using a sealed cockpit environment. The internal
consumables supplies can provide breathable atmosphere for four days
maximum.
IX. Development:

The Regult was developed in the beginning of the 19th century by the
Tirolian overlords of the Zentraedi as the general-purpose mecha for
the Zentraedi armies and fleets. As all other Zentraedi mecha, the
Regult and its versions were produced in automated factories spread
through the Tirolian Mercantile Empire, as well as by the Robotech

Factory Satellite. The number of Regult pods produced can only be

estimated to lie around the two to three billion.
The Regult Tactical Battle Pod and its three derivatives, the two missile
carrying Gluuhaug and Serauhaug as well as the unarmed Del
reconnaissance version formed a complete infantry army. All Regult
mecha had a high mobility and, save for the Del, heavy armament.
They lacked a substantial armor protection, However. Because of the
need for simple manufacturing, the sensor suite, while complete, was
of mediocre quality. Indeed, equipping a Regult with high quality
sensors was only possible if all armament was removed.
The Regult versions were issued as standard equipment to the
mechanised troops of the Zentraedi army and the assault troops on the
large starships, providing the race with a very mobile and heavily
armed infantry corps. To provide an efficient weapons fit for sqaudrons
of Regult, one out of every 10 battle pods is usually a Gluuhaug
version, and one out of every 20 is usually a Serauhaug version. Del
versions are typically assigned as needed.
