Reading
This week students will be completing written exercises
along with their reading relating to non-fiction text structures
such as sequencing, comparing and contrasting, cause and
effect, and problem and solution. Students will be shown
signal words used when describing a specific structure
and how to use these words in their own writing. Also this
week, students will devote time to specific grammar lessons
involving subjects and predicates as well as connections
between adjectives and adverbs.

Math
The students will finish unit five this
week as they complete the final
three lessons. These lessons include a review of the parts of bar
and circle graphs and how to
properly read them, measuring circle graph sectors, and constructing
circle and bar graphs from given
data in various forms (such as in
fractions, decimals, or percents).
Depending on how we progress this
week, the unit five assessment will
be either on next Sunday or Monday.
