Dear Professor Benjamin Ristow,

The writing portfolio I submit to you today is an accurate
representation of my educational experience/journey in the Digital
Rhetoric course that I have been participating in under your
administration since January of 2015. Inside the folder is a collection of
all my academic work focused in and around this course; some of it is
structured to a specific prompt and the other assignments are
generally centered around a critical analysis of the course text
provided.
From this portfolio I endeavor to offer and insight into my
personal writing process and my understanding of the course material.
The revised critical responses are aimed to provide you with my
understanding and engagement with the course authors. They
specifically could portray how I came to interpret the information from
the assigned readings and how I engaged/interacted with that
information. By providing you with my analysis of the text it will help
you later on identify why I might bring up certain points or references
in the larger assignments that are also included. You can then notice
why I might have agreed with or challenged the text and how I might
have made those connections to the assignment topic.
Included in this portfolio are two larger writing assignments
motivated by a particular prompt. These essays offer you and insight
into my overall writing style and process. From them you can analyze
the connections I make to the course text and reliability to the prompt
and in classroom discussion as a whole. Also available is the layout to
my writing process. By being able to compare revised drafts you can
see what corrections I may have made and speculate why I may have
done that the way I did. It will also enable you to take note of my work
ethic when it comes to re drafting and to be conscious of some of the
consistent rhetorical aspects that I chose to stick with, (i.e. narrative
voice, analogies). Last but not least is the web layout design I created.
This also will help see how I applied the text (WSINYE) to the design
and how this version is quite different and advance from the original
one.
By reviewing this portfolio you should ultimately end up with a
better understanding of where I stand academically as a student/writer
in your class, and also even expose my strengths and weaknesses as a
developing and aspiring writer. I ask that you consider each piece
carefully and acknowledge some of the risks that I have taken in my
writing process and some of the areas where the language I used
simply did not work. Overall this was not an easy portfolio to construct
to, I value your feedback and am essentially grateful for the time you
dedicate to reviewing this portfolio to say the least. Thank you
professor and I hope you enjoy.

Sincerely,
Anthony T. Falco
