Icebreakers

Toilet Paper Surprise: As the teacher welcomes students at the door holding a roll of
toilet paper, they are instructed to pull as many sheets as they like, without knowing
what it is for. Upon starting the class, students are instructed to write one interesting
thing about themselves on each sheet of TP they pulled. After all the students are
finished, they introduce themselves by name and reading their sheets of toilet paper.
Birthday Lineup: Students are instructed to line themselves up around the perimeter of
the classroom in order, according to their birthdate. The challenge is for students to do
so without speaking or writing anything down, which leaves sign language and/or
reading lips, in addition to any other alternative means of communication in order to
accomplish this task.
