Throughout the play, Tybalts hate for the Montagues was a flame
burning on a river of gas. For instance, he was always rude towards the
Montagues, emphasizing his strong resentment. In the opening act and scene
of the play, there was a quarrel between the houses. At the fight, Benvolio was
trying to keep the peace, but on lines 63-64, Tybalt rudely said, What, drawn,

Tybalt always found ways to cause trouble from his hatred, making him a foil to
Benvolio. This is because he had qualities that were opposite of Benvolios,
which made so that their contrasts and differences stood out. Therefore, the
language and ideas used made readers understand the level of intensity
between the two foils and foes as well as emphasized Tybalts disgust for
peace. Also, Tybalts hate was so strong that he was willing to go to extremes in
order to achieve his desires. During the Capulets house party, he saw Romeo
and said, Now, by the stock and honor of my kin, to strike him dead I hold it
not a sin (I.iv.56-57). This shows that he was would have no regrets in killing
Romeo who was there as an innocent guest. Even Capulet said himself that
there should be no quarrels as Romeo was peaceful and ignorant. Therefore,
Tybalt was as uncontrollable, unpredictable, and deadly as fire. To conclude,
Tybalt was continually resentful and mean towards the Montagues despite their
ignorance.
