across the board, it could seriously degrade the mobility machine and hamper units effectives and
it could impact the life or death urgency of getting a units equipment and supplies to them in a
timely fashion. The situation has gotten so bad that it has affected the mobility forces manning
to the point they had to migrate to a 12 hour a day shift just to ensure they could provide
adequate support and coverage.
Purpose of the Evaluation
Basically, there are three purposes to conduct this evaluation which are plausibility,
adequacy and probability (Sight, 2013). Plausibility assessment determines if a program has
reached its expected goals. Even though there are outside influences which are affecting the
numbers, the problem may be relieved by utilizing internal means such as bringing many more
people trained up than ever before. Next, is adequacy which is conducted if evaluators are
interested in whether the goals and objectives are met, which will be determined in about one
years time? Lastly is probability which is a look to see if program outcomes are successful.
The reason this evaluation is needed is because there needs to be an end state to increase the
numbers of joint inspectors while at the same time the militarys manning numbers are
decreasing or in some cases diminishing. There are still adequate numbers of personnel assigned
worldwide that may be able to fill the void but we have to identify whats the educational gap in
and why its taking such a long time to bring them up to speed to align them for joint inspector
training down the road. This evaluation could identify gaps in the current training programs and
ways to correct those limiting factors. We need to know is our training programs standard across
all of the bases and that could be the reason why some of the younger military members are
having a difficult time grasping the information. Did budget cuts of years past hamper and
impact the funds normally allocated for the training piece? Did the quality of the training
degrade and the members suffered in the long run? All of these are important questions that need
to be answered to pinpoint why some of the members are having a hard time picking up the
information. This information is the backbone of what they will do day in and day out at their
job. Only after theyve learned their job sufficiently, is when theyre even considered for the
advanced training of becoming a joint inspection.
Data Collection Phase
As mentioned in the needs assessment, once the training piece is fixed, we need to
identify the most eligible applicants in all of the various bases. In this process, collection of the
data is extremely critical and its not as simple as just going out and randomly grabbing
information and inputting it into a spreadsheet. There are several things you must do while
collecting the data which are 1) you have to clarify the goals of that the data you are collecting
which is in this case gathering the number of trained and people who are qualified I joint
inspection training. 2) Operational procedures have to be developed to know exactly what
parameters we are gathering our training numbers and how it should be measured; 3) the
measurement system needs to be validated and standardized throughout the organization; 4)
Once all of those are identified, we can begin to collect data and ensure we continue to do it
accurately (Pereira, 2007). The information in this phase is so critical because in order to get the
numbers into the range, your parameters in gathering have to be on point.
Procedures for analyzing the data
In the process of analyzing data, it has to be looked at in ways that will show
relationships, patterns, and trends which are found within the data (Development, 2013). The
data may have to compare against historical and statistical records. When going through the
records and data, it may have to be compared to other groups similar to yours which will help
draw conclusions and also you can see if all the different military bases are enduring the same
problems as you are. In our data analysis process we will work with quantitative data which
deals with the numbers involved in data and the qualitative data process is when opinions,
quotes, descriptions, and anecdotes are involved.
Results/findings
This entire process is about finding the data or results needed so the manning numbers can be
scrutinized and the training that will have to be provided in order to subsidize the low numbers.
The results compiled should paint a picture telling an audience whats going on by structuring
numbers to create graphs and charts. The graphs and charts can take all of the compiled data and
neatly process it into a colorful easy to read format. The data will help us understand that the
military took a major hit in manning in a very short amount of time. The remaining force had to
take up the slack and produce qualified joint inspector form already given numbers.
Summary
In the course of almost any training course one would go through, theres always a survey or
critique that the instructors will give the students to fill out. The information contained in most
of these surveys is very important to the staff because this is what they use to critique
themselves. They take this information to add or omit lessons in order to make their product
better and more informative for the students. I would take this valuable information to ensure all
is update if the said recommendation is a valid point and will add credible information to the
course. I would like to evaluate the employees on a more regular basis to ensure they have the
knowledge down and its viable to the current lesson plan. I would like to also ensure I have
updated material for my students. Material thats not dated could cause more harm than help.
The current information would ensure they are getting taught the correct material. All the
employees that are in the work section, I would ensure they have the qualifications needed to
keep my numbers up. I believe in consistently going over the material to keep my guys up to
par and sharp. The material is basic for all aerial porters to know.
