Third party Contract


Legislation in United Kingdom and Cayman Islands

Legally speaking a third party is a person or group who is not a party to a legal contract
or transaction, but who has an interest or involvement in some way.
The aim of this project is to look into the matter whether third party have any right
regarding the functioning of the contracts. With the advent of the IT age where many
transactions are taking place via online retailers rights to define the rights of each and
every party has become of paramount importance.
Starting with a brief introduction, the Project will discuss Doctrine of Privity of Contract
explaining its definition as well as exceptions falling under it.
Then Third party as well as Third Party agreements will be defined.
Then the project will explain in detail the third party beneficiary rights. Under this head
historical overview, remedies available, exceptions are listed. Also information regarding
Indian scenario has been discussed.
Finally statutes conferring rights on third parties in various countries are listed. This subhead includes case laws and explain in short various statutes in different countries. Lastly
Legislation in UK and Cayman Islands are discussed.
