| serve as the Executive Director of the Boro Park Jewish Community Council, a full service social service
‘agency serving close to 10,000 cllents a yaar with access to government benefits, crisis assistance,
immigration, senior services and more. |have been in communal and government service for 25 years
Including stints as a staff member for then New York City Councilman Bill de Blasio, and as a Vice
President at Metropolitan Jewish Health System,
During the course of my career, | have come across many people but few have stood out as Willie
Rapfogel. first gat to know Willie when | was working in the City Council | can recall one particular
Instance when a certain member of the City Council was in need of home care for his ailing father. Willie
reached out to me to help obtain the home care and showed real concem for the welfare of this elderly
gentleman.
Some years later when the position opened for Executive Director at the Boro Park Jewish Community
Council | reached out to Wille for assistance. Wille guided me through the process and mentored me
{851 took the position. He was an invaluable help to me at that time.
{im December 2012, a roaring fire ripped through a row of homes in Kensington Brooklyn leaving seven
families homeless. Willie put the full resources of the Met Council atthe disposal of these families
assuring they would have what they need to get back on thelr feet. These are only some of the many
acts of kindness Ihave seen from Willie over the years.
| am fully aware that Willie made some big miscakes, which he is prepared to pay for. At the same time, |
hope you wil take into consideration the many good deeds that Willie performed over the years,
especially when it came to helping those less Fortunate.
