Diggo

This resource is fantastic for reading and organizing information in one place. I love
that you can add sticky notes and highlight right on your computer. This makes
research and reading articles much more easy and convenient. Sometimes I read
articles and they have wonderful information. Since they are online, I had a hard
time highlighting or marking where the important information was. This site allows
you to make notes and highlight right on the document. Also, this resource allows
you to organize websites, documents, articles, etc any way that works for you.
I would use this for myself when reading articles and looking for websites. I think
this would really help organize all of my online research. I think this site would be
better for older students since it involves higher computer skills. It would work
great for a research project or to have as a working document throughout high
school or college to help organize a students work.
Survey Monkey
Survey monkey is a great tool that can be used in several different ways. I have
taken a survey monkey survey before and enjoyed its simplicity. Even though I
have taken a survey through this site, I had not created one before this course. As I
navigated through Survey Monkey, I noticed it was just as easy to create a survey.
This tool could be used by both teachers and students. As a teacher I would use
this tool to find out information from student and parents related to our classroom
and/or individual learning styles. I will create a survey at the beginning of the year
to get to know students and parents (I will have a separate one for each). In the
student survey I will ask questions to find out learning styles, interests, attitude
about school, and how they prefer to communicate. This will serve as a great start
to the school year to help provide instruction that the students need. In addition I
will send one out to parents inquiring about communication preferences, attitude
about school, homework, and engagement with after school programs. My
intentions would be to offer a survey before Christmas break and then again around
Easter. My purpose for this would be to evaluate and hopefully make adjustments
to provide a better educational experience to both parents and students.
Some other ways I could use Survey Monkey would be to take a class wide survey
about certain activities throughout the school year such as incentives, field trips,
etc. In addition, students could use this tool as part of a project where they are
finding out information. This could be implemented into all subject areas. My first
thought would be to use this tool at the beginning of the year to get to know their
classmates and then transitioning to using the tool in all subject areas.

Schoology
This is a great all-round site for managing a classroom. There are so many things
you can do to effectively manage your classroom. You can have students submit
assignments, have conversations, access resources, etc. Its a great way to
communicate with parents as well.

Although I enjoyed this site, our school has similar sites like this that we are
required to use. This site has many benefits and I will definitely keep this site in
mind for future reference.
Doodle
This resource is great for scheduling. You can easily set up events and find out who
is available. I like how you can add different times so people can respond according
to the time frames. This makes it a lot easier to coordinate because usually one
time/day is sent out and when someone responds no you dont get any other
information. On this site you can add times/days so you get a bigger picture and
can navigate through responses to see what works for everyone.
I do like this site, however our school district is using google a lot for invites. I may
present this as a way to get a quicker response for available times/days. Its easier
to gain multiple answers and availability times using this site. When you send out a
google invite, there are no options to add multiple times/days. Definitely will be
using this for IEPs!
For all rubrics
This tool is great for developing rubrics for individual and/or group
projects/assignments. It is user friendly and offers other resources for assessment.
I have not had experience using this tool, however I think it will be useful as an
educator.
For some subjects we have pre-made rubrics by the district and/or curriculum.
However for group projects and individual assignments we are responsible to create
rubrics. I believe this tool is helpful, easy, and practical for educators. I created a
rubric for a Science project that is coming up for my students. I will go over this
with them before they begin their project and then refer to it throughout the project.
This is a very valuable tool and will benefit students while working on projects and
assignments. Students will have to follow rubrics and be able to interpret and
follow a rubric. It is a skill that students will have to learn throughout their
educational career. Overall, I think this tool is very efficient and effective and can
be used across several different subject areas.

Animoto
While working on this assignment, I noticed how this resource could be used in so
many different ways in schools and in the community. It was super easy to navigate
through and to add different forms of media. I liked how you could use their music
or pick your own. In addition, there were lots of backgrounds and themes to choose
from.
I plan to use this for projects in science class and social studies class. I think this is
a great way for students to present information and their classmates would enjoy
watching this. I can incorporate so many different requirements to get a solid idea

of where students are in relation to mastery of the subject area. This could be used
as an independent project or a group project.

Quizlet
This is a very helpful site when presenting new vocabulary. I have seen this used in
different classrooms and have liked how it looks. Students seem to refer to the
vocabulary cards and use them during classroom activities. The site is quick and
easy to use which is beneficial to an educator.
I especially like how easy it is to incorporate pictures! Pictures are a vital part to
most students education in that they need a visual to help support the definition. I
plan on using this tool quite often in my classroom. I am going to incorporate this
into my reading groups. This is a great way to introduce, learn, and retain
vocabulary words.

Wordle
I have always seen Wordle around schools, the internet, stores, etc. and wondered
how can they do that? It is a very creative and eye-catching way to incorporate
meaningful words into one picture. I see people and students alike always stopping
to look at Wordles. They are extremely powerful and when used appropriately can
be very educational.
I really like how you can change your Wordle and tweak it to your own taste. There
are several different colors, patterns, fonts, etc. that can be implemented. Another
great thing is no Wordle will look alike. It would be almost impossible to create 2 of
the same Wordles. This tool is also super easy and can be replicated easy as well.
I will use this in several different ways. I will use to add to my word walls. During
each new unit or chapter or throughout the year, I will add Wordles to the word wall
with important vocabulary. I will also make mini Wordles to have students put in
their notebooks as a reminder of vocabulary words. I also plan on having students
create their own Wordles. I can use this with reading groups, math groups, science
groups, etc.

Padlet
This is another great resource for teachers and students. I love how students can
add different forms of media and comment on them as well. Its a great resource to
add to projects or just as a project by itself. It is easy to use and students will find it
easy to use as well. There are several different designs, colors, fonts, etc to
personalize each page.
I would use this for projects, as a way to reflect on books, and/or communication
between school and home. This could be used across all curriculum areas therefore

making it a versatile as well. It can be interactive as well which I think will appeal to
students.
Weebly
This tool was the most intimidating tool to me. When I first saw that we were going
to be making our own website, I became anxious. I thought how in the world am I
going to learn how to do that?? Once I visited the site, I was pleasantly surprised!
The site is very user friendly and the basics can be learned fairly quickly. I liked how
our instructor had a cheat sheet. Without this I would have been lost. Her
instructions were very clear and organized. If you followed the instructions, you
were able to complete all the tasks. There were some vocabulary words that I
learned such as embed which will be useful in the future.
Weebly is a great tool that can be used for several different purposes. In respects to
school, Weebly would be a great way to keep parents and students in the loop with
the daily/weekly classroom activities. My hopes for next year is to have a classroom
website where we have all subject areas on the website. On the website, I would
like to have resources, activities of what we are doing, communication, and content
for parents and students to access. I think many parents would be grateful for this
information and it would bridge the gap between school and home a little more.
Students could also create their own website for projects. I would probably wait
until they were older, however it would be a great tool to introduce at a basic level.
Weebly can also be used in your personal life to help with businesses and for
pleasure. It is a great, free tool to promote your business! There is so much more
you can do with this tool and I am excited to explore it more. I am also going to
share this with people I know who would benefit from this!
