What is patience?

Two words in Greek express the

meaning of Patience :

1 . Hupomone= endurance,
steadfastness,
and fortitude

2 . Makrothumia= great,
long tempered(not
short-tempered)

which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish”-

“One moment of patience may ward off great disaster. One
moment of impatience may ruin a whole life”-
Chinese Proverb
 1 st Question : Is it easy to hold on when you are
unfairly treated? Let’s say as children how much we
bear if we are not treated fairly by our parents? I am
not talking about my parents but generally.

II . Patience is an attribute of God :

Exodus 34 : 6= “And the Lord passed before him and

proclaimed, “The Lord the Lord God, merciful and gracious,
longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.”
2 nd Question : Is the Lord always patience in the
Bible? How do we justify the times he was angry with
nations or individuals and destroyed them?
3 rd Question : How can the parents justify if they
are angry over
their children’s behavior?

4 th Question : What lessons can we learn here as

parents and children?
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into
various trials, knowing that the testing of your
faith produces patience. But let patience have its
perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete,
lacking nothing”-
