Dear Parent/Carer,
As you are aware, we have been providing revision support and directed homework in maths for a while
now. As learners are getting busy with revision for other subjects, we have now extended our provision
of revision sessions. You child should aim to attend at least one. These will be posted on the school
website on the whole school revision timetable, but are as follows.
Tuesday: 3.30pm 4.30pm Mrs Fyfe Jones group C-B

Wednesday: 3.30pm 4.30pm Miss Tomkinson D-B

The teacher is the leader of the session, but any learner is encouraged to attend any session that it
appropriate for their needs. The grades at the side refer to the levels of the topics being taught. A
learner aiming for a B for instance should know all the D, C and B grade topics to secure that grade.
We will be keeping a register of who attends and your childs teacher will let you know if we are worried
that they are not doing enough independent practice, to complement the hard work being done in
lessons. Your child should be completing their independent practise every week. This may be their
Closing the Gap booklet, or for learners with higher target grades, a selection of GCSE questions from
their teacher. This is to be handed into lessons every Thursday.
We know that this is a stressful time for learners and for parents/carers. All these measures are
designed to support your child and to guide them through this time, where organisation and planning of
revision are key. Please contact us on the number above if you have any worries or concerns that we
have not picked up on in school. We are here to help.
