Measurement and Data
Describe and compare measurable attributes.
K.MD.1.1 Describe measurable attributes of objects, such as length or weight. Describe
several measureable attributes of a single object.
Activity: Using the pre-approved math learning website Johnnies Math Page
(jmathpage.com), students will work in pairs of two collaboratively on a website with
different measurement learning and practice activities. The student pairs will take turns
playing and helping each other while completing only activities 2, 4, 6, 8. The activities
left out will not be able to be completed because students have not learned the material.
Website Activity #2: Ruler Game, provides small reading on the ruler, how it is used,
what it is used for, etc. The game asks students to click on a certain measurement of the
ruler, while trying to beat the timer.
Website Activity #4: Fish Catch, asks students to catch fish and determine their lengths
when compared to a ruler.
Website Activity #6: Simple Measures, asks students to determine the lengths of various
classroom items when compared to a ruler.
Website Activity #8: Estimate Length, asks students to estimate the lengths of various
kitchen items with a chef.
With this activity I will be in compliance with:

Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve
problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
Earth Systems, Structures and Processes
K.E.1. Understand change and observable patterns of weather that occur from day to day
and throughout the year.
K.E.1.3. Compare weather patterns that occur from season to season.
Activity: Using the Kindergarten Science Links Website at
(http://www.teachers.cr.k12.de.us/~galgano/klinkssci.htm) individual students will go to
this website and select any of two selected activities. Students will complete both with
time availability.
Website Activity #1: Foss: Air and Weather, is a fun-interactive animated game that
asks students to help Mr. Bear dress appropriately for the weather of that day; with this
activity they will learn more about the different weather patterns of the seasons.
Website Activity #2: Weather is a fun interactive game that asks students to label the
season based on animated videos, different outfits, and other characteristics of the
seasons.
