Unit Summary

This unit plan will cover ELA content, science content, math content, and social studies
content. In the ELA portion, the students will learn and categorize water cycle related
voculary. In the science portion, the students will watch an episode of the Magic School Bus
and make a power point about what they learned. In the math portion, the students will gather
data onlocal precipitation and create a line graph from it. In the socal studies portion, the
students will make a brochure in Microsoft Word as they travel through the water cycle.

Student Objectives/Learning Outcomes

The student will define new vocabulary words that describe the water cycle. The learner will
discuss the water cycle and identify key compnents of the water cycle. The students will
accurately graph the rain from Baton Rouge weather data. The students will sequence the
steps of the water cycle and relate it to everyday weather.
