Parent Information Day

Week of May 3-7

Reading Students will work this week on
providing written explanations which identify
the main idea in their current non-fiction text.
They will also be asked to identify in writing
evidence from their text that supports their
idea of what the main idea is. Students will
also have their spelling assessment on
Sunday and will be provided with a new list of
spelling words for the week. Grammar
exercises will include identifying different
types of sentences (such as imperative,
declarative, interrogative, and exclamatory).

Math
On Sunday student will complete
the assessment for unit six, which
focused on using data to construct
graphs and also the addition and
subtraction of fractions with unlike
denominators. Monday and Tuesday will be a review of concepts
learned in the first six units this
year, with students completing an
assignment based on these concepts on Wednesday.
