Although there is no science area in this classroom, The area I would make would include
posters of farm animals and a discovery center with different types of seeds and grains in jars
(labeled), Life Cycle of a Chicken, Jars with planted seeds to show root system, Egg shells, Real
Wool sample, Corn Cobs, Straw, Feathers, Pictures of animals and what products they give.

Music Area: List additions/changes in Music area


Although there is no music area in the classroom, I would add egg shakers with different types
of seeds in them such as corn, peas, sunflower seeds, rice etc. To make different sounds. CD's
with a CD player that includes songs such as, "Old MacDonald Has a Farm", Oats and Beans and

Barley Grow, Five Little Ducks, Homemade instruments such as spoons, jugs, washboard, pots,
etc.
Art Area: List addition/changes you will make in the art area. In this area you will be adding
free choice materials.
I will add farm related materials to the art center such as cotton, burlap, corn and seeds, straw
and felt. Farm animal coloring pages, farm animal stickers or foam pieces, popsicle sticks to
make fences and barns and examples of some crafts to make with those materials.
Outdoor Area: List additions and changes you will make in outdoor area
Since this is a school, I am unable to change the outdoor environment. However if I could, I
would prepare an area with bales of hay, an area with dirt and shovels to dig, toy farm
equipment such as tractors, etc., wagons to pull and put things in and make a cow milking
station with a wooden horse made into a cow, a bucket and some brushes.

You will change the group time etc, in the left column to go with the schedule of
activities of your placement site. Please delete example! You can use your
cooperating teachers weekly planning form if that is more convenient.
