Robert Sternberg:
La creatividad, de alguna manera, es una actitud ante la vida. Es la actitud de crear,
de generar ideas. La persona creativa es una persona que asume riesgos.
Eduardo Punset:
Daniel Dennet dijo algo as como: cuando inventamos algo y no sabemos lo que ha
ocurrido, lo llamamos intuicin. Y, Einstein, me parece que cuando le preguntaban si
l haba inventado la teora de la relatividad, deca: es un salto. Y casi siempre detrs
de cada conocimiento hay una emocin. Y luego vienes tu y dices: no es una
capacidad, no es una habilidad, es una decisin personal. Oye, con qu me quedo?
Qu es realmente la inteligencia creativa?
Robert Sternberg:
S, la idea bsica es que la creatividad, verdaderamente, es una decisin. La persona
creativa piensa de una manera diferente. Por ejemplo, si la persona creativa ve que
todo el mundo est caminando en esa direccin, no acepta esa direccin como la
direccin correcta simplemente porque todo el mundo est caminando en esa
direccin. Al contrario, muchas veces piensa que si todo el mundo va por ah, ella
debe caminar en la direccin opuesta. Tengo mi propia idea y quizs mi idea sea
mejor. Muchas personas siguen a otras personas slo porque esas personas van en
esa direccin. Y la persona creativa decide ser independiente, an si hay
consecuencias a veces negativas.
Eduardo Punset:
Vamos a ver ahora lo que esa persona independiente de los dems hace cuando hace
algo creativo. T dices que la inteligencia creativa comporta una parte de anlisis...

Robert Sternberg:
Bsicamente hay tres partes. Una parte es generar la idea. La segunda es analizar la
idea, porque nadie siempre tiene buenas ideas, ni Einstein, ni Picasso, ni nadie. Por
eso es importante, despus de tener la idea, analizarla y preguntarse si es la mejor
idea que se puede generar. Y la tercera etapa es vender la idea, porque se necesita
darse cuenta de que cuando se tiene una idea creativa generalmente las otras
personas no van a aceptar la idea. Entonces se entra en un proceso de convencerlas
de que la idea vale la pena.
Eduardo Punset:
mismo error muchas veces. Pero yo creo que la creatividad s se puede ensear. Y
nosotros tenemos tcnicas fciles, que enseamos, porque bsicamente la creatividad
es una decisin. Pero la creatividad de alguna manera es una actitud ante la vida, de
crear, de generar ideas, y la persona creativa es una persona que asume riesgos, que
no necesita estar segura a cada momento. Reconoce la necesidad de enfrentarse a los
obstculos. Lo que yo digo a mis hijos y a mis estudiantes es que la pregunta que uno
debe hacerse no es si va a haber obstculos, porque seguro que siempre va a haber,
sin si uno tiene el coraje para enfrentarse y superar los obstculos.
Eduardo Punset:
Una ltima reflexin: las fases fisiolgicas de la creatividad. Es decir, hay alguna
parte del cerebro que se me activa cuando tengo una idea creativa?
Robert Sternberg:
Las investigaciones muestran que hay muchas partes del cerebro involucradas en
ello, pero lo importante es darse cuenta de que no slo la biologa afecta al
comportamiento y al aprendizaje, sino que el comportamiento y el aprendizaje
afectan a la biologa, va en ambas direcciones. Es decir, que cuando se aprende algo,
cuando se desarrolla cognitivamente, se cambia el cerebro tambin. Es decir, que la
biologa no es predestinacin, se puede cambiar la vida y el cerebro por el
aprendizaje y por las actitudes ante la vida.

of creativity techniques and uses a lot of mind maps to good effect. Well worth
