TENTS:

These are portable temporary shelters. Mostly made of assembled fabric and poles. Its
used by travelers, military personnel and to aid disaster victims.
CARAVANS:
These are mobile homes. Its prefabricated material, shifted from one place to another by
trailers as tow. Its a common camp home.

IGLOO:
This is a snow house. Seen in Arctic regions. It is usually dome shaped. Its a traditional
shelter.

HOUSE BOATS:
These are modified boast for human residence. Its either fixed or motorized. In Kerala,
house boats used for holiday trips are locally called kettuvallams.

VILLAS:
Formerly this referred to elegant, upper class country homes. Now modern detached
town houses are also called villas.
BUNGALOWS:
Low rise Indian dwellings with verandahs. Spacious homes used as single family unit

TREE HOUSES:
These are seen in forests for protection from animals. Its made among the branches of
mature trees. Now used as recreation shelters in wild life tourism also.
