P1 Describe uses and principles of web animation with some

appropriate use of subject terminology

A web banner or a banner ad is a

form of advertising on the World Wide
Web. This form of online advertising
entails embedding an advertisement
into a web page. It is intended to
attract web traffic to a specific
website by linking to the website of
the advertiser.
The advertising company usually earns money,
cost per click basis for every unique user click on
the ad, they earn a small amount of money.
Banner Ads
The web banner is displayed when a web page that
references the banner is loaded into aweb browser.
This event is known as an "impression". When the
viewer clicks on the banner, the viewer is directed
to the website advertised in the banner
Newer web browsers often include options to disable
pop-ups or block images from selected websites.
Another way of avoiding banners is to use aproxy
serverthat blocks them, such asPrivoxy. Web browsers
may also have extensions available which block
banners, for exampleAd-block PlusforMozilla Firefox,
orGoogle ChromeandInternet Explorer.

Information
An educational animation is a cartoon developed to be used in classrooms,
on educational television programs, and in other settings where people want
to provide information to people of all ages in a clear, accessible,
andinformativeway. A number of companies specialize in the production of
educationalanimations, including shorts for use as clips and inserts in larger
produced pieces. Such cartoons are often available online through company
websites or video sharing services . As you can see from the image below,
its a map where a person standing next to it explaining how the weather is
like and letting people know whether is going to rain or not or country

Promotion
Animation, when used to advertise on TV provides the developers of the
ad content as well as the producers of the product or service advertised
with a significant amount of flexibility and cost savings the visual aspects
of an animation advertising are under the complete control of animators
eliminating location constraints and the need to re shoot. the costs of
animation advertising are also predetermined which allows a
development team to operate without the possibility of unexpected errors
or costs on a film set. As you can see from the images, its the actual
Tesco store site on the main page the screen keeps changing itself its
plays videos sometimes its animated background where they promote
their goods on the site, whoever visits the website will all the latest sales
at Tesco.

Entertainment

The main point of web animation is taken up with entertainment, be it short

animation films or fully animated games as mentioned above. There are at
least six websites dedicated to hosting interactive flash games and dozens of
websites dedicated to short films and clips. Another type of animation in this
format is a rollover banner advertising a trailer for a film, this is animated to
expand, even though it does not contain any animation on its own. Dedicated
websites that animators use to promote their own animations and associated
publications are growing in popularity due to the ease of setting up. As you
can see from the images, there are from an actual cartoon movies where its
been animated. There some amazing cartoon movies and series which looks
very attractive and some of them are in 3D which makes it even more
attractive.

Flick books

This is essentially a book with a series of pictures that vary gradually from
one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the pictures
appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change. Flip books
are often illustrated books for children, but may also be geared towards
adults and employ a series of photographs rather than drawings. Flip books
are not always separate books, but may appear as an added feature in
ordinary books or magazines, often in the page corners. An example of flick
book is the image above which shows dog running, so whenever you change
the page there's a different movement.

Cartoons
Cartoonanimationis created with traditional hand-drawn or computergenerated animationtechniques. Whileanimationcan include any subject,
style or age group, the word cartoon usually describes colourful short
pieces that are often intended to be humorous and to appeal to
children.Cartoonanimationhas been used for this purpose since the dawn
of animated film nowadays the term cartoon is also used to describe printed
humorous drawings that appear in newspapers or periodicals. These
however, are more accurately called comic strips or gag panels. Examples of
cartoon movies like Toy story 3 and Pirate etc. these movies are very
attractive as they are in 3D and there are 2D version which is really nice I
like watching them.

Persistence of vision
Persistence of vision is a human phenomenon
of the eye where an image is retained through
a fraction of a second in the retina this is said
to be the reason why a film can take
continuous motion pictures, this phenomenon
is applied in film systems, computer monitors,
and cartoon animations.

Drawn Animation
The content drawn in animation is an animation technique which has
each frame drawn by hand. It was the most dominant form of animation
in cinema, till the advent of computer animation. It is also known as
traditional animation or classical animation. As you can from the image
showing a cartoon movie which its been drawn by hand

Claymation
Claymation is a technique of animation is which clay or plasticise figures are made
(both characters and landscape and filmed using stop motion photography. The
pieces are deformable because they are made of malleable substance. The same
character may need to be recreated over a hundred times in different poses in a
long production.

Stop Motion

This type of animation is a technique to make a physically manipulated object appear

to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually
photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is
played as a continuous sequence. Clay figures are often used in stop motion for their
ease of repositioning. Motion animation using clay is called clay animation or clay
motion A very good example of stop-motion clay animation is Wallace and Gromit,
after detailed storyboarding, set and plasticised model construction, the film is shot one
frame at a time, moving the models of the characters slightly between to give the
