My first artifact is all of my other artifacts I have created for this portfolio. These artifacts
detail my experience with the nine other Wisconsin Standards Teacher Development and
Licensure standards through the past years of classes and teaching experience.
My second artifact is a reflection from the parent-teacher conferences were held at Mineral
Point High School April 1st at 4:00pm. The reflection is an overview what I thought of my
first parent teacher conference.
Alignment Reflection
My experiences align with this standard because the portfolio is one large practice in
reflections and the weekly review are mini weekly reflections on that week of
student teaching. In writing the other nine artifacts, I have evaluated the effects of
my actions on my students, parents and other educators. The act of writing these
artifacts has influenced the decisions I have made in the classroom and help me
grow professionally.
My experiences align with this KSD because I learned that reflection is an essential part
of teaching. Without reflection, a teacher wouldnt think or consider what is truly best
for the student, the parents, or the community. They might continue designing
curriculum, creating a learning environment, or communicating with others that do not
work for the majority of students.
KSD4.b : The candidate values, understands, and can maintain accurate records and assessment
data including a system for student completion of assignments, information concerning student
progress, and a system for non-instructional activities with all record systems reflecting student
contributions to their establishment and maintenance.
KSD4.c : The candidate is able to provide frequent, sensitive and appropriate information to
parents and students about students positive and negative progress within the instructional
program and successfully engages families in the educational process when appropriate.
Personal Reflection
I learned that to become the best teacher I can be, I need to reflect on my teaching. I
think it makes for a teacher that is aware of their effect on students, so they can correct
any short comings or shore up strengths of teaching.
From my experience I learned that writing or at the very least reflecting on my own
teaching. I hope that I can see flaws in my own teaching and fix them to become the best
teacher I can be.
