Human Impact on Earth
Land, water, air. Our lives depend on them. The Earth has generously given us these
resources for millions of years. Since humans evolved, our population has grown rapidly. We
have used and abused our Earth. (www.edhelper.com, 2013) Forest fires are a big problem all
around the world because of the bad health factors they create for humans with toxic smoke.
Mass Tourism is effecting animal habitats also tourism poses a threat to a region's natural and
cultural resources, such as water supply, beaches, coral reefs and heritage sites, through overuse.
It also causes increased pollution through traffic emissions, littering, increased sewage
production and noise. We need animal protection for the polar bears that are becoming extinct
because of global warming due to pollution. As the human population has grown, so have the
difficulties with animals, their habitats, environments, and natural disasters; and were doing
everything possible to try and fix it.
Forest fires produce a toxin smoke that can cause death in the worst case scenario. The
smoke can irritate the throat and nose. The smoke usually enters the body through inhaling.
Forest fires take effect on the ecosystem as well. The pollutant in the smoke kills crops and also
affects the fertility of the soil. This then would cause risking animals lives also. Forest fires can
pollute the water we drink every day because of bacteria and pathogens. We can help prevent this
by maintaining weeds and bushes that are capable of fires, also by not spilling fuel or gasoline in

the forest, even just as simple as maintaining your campfire. This was said to have impacted the
forest fire numbers in a positive way, the amount of forest fires are decreasing.
Mass Tourism is the act of visiting a destination with large amounts of people at a time.
Tourism can only be sustainable if it is carefully managed. (responsible travel , 2013) So better
managing of the amounts of people coming into tour would be a recommendation because all
theyre doing is ruining animals habitats by taking up their space. Tourism poses a threat to a
region's natural and cultural resources. It also causes increased pollution through traffic
emissions, littering, increased sewage production and noise. There are programs trying to do to
their best to prevent this with organization and better management of huge crowds of people. The
outcome of this has been proven to help animal habitats.
There are many programs around to help with the protection of animals, the protection of
artic animals is the most important to me considering animals are almost instinct due to global
warming. Many humans use WWA (world wildlife fund) to support the polar bears and make a
funding for researchers to do whatever possible to keep them from going extinct. Along with the
seals and walruses. This is becoming a problem because of the melting of the polar icecaps, the
melting of polar icecaps is from global warming. We as a world can prevent global warming by
decreasing the amount of fuel we use because it creates pollution and is bad for animals
everywhere. Because of loss of their sea ice habitat resulting from climate change, polar bears
were listed as a threatened species in the US under the Endangered Species Act in May 2008.
The survival and the protection of the polar bear habitat are urgent issues for WWF. (World
Wildlife Fund, 2015)
Forest fires, mass tourism, and animal extinction can all be life threatening but it takes
the whole world together to help prevent this kind of disturbance. Researchers have said the

numbers have decreased for these occurrences. So keep up the good work! I can help protect the
earth by being more cautious of the amount of fuel I use because in all honesty I could walk/bike
to school or anywhere in Buchanan so Ill start considering that. Also I will be more cautious
while by the woods with fire, last I will save water because I know 15 minute showers are not
necessary and water isnt unlimited and will be better our environment. I hope you will take
these to consideration too!
