Disciple of Christ
By definition, a disciple is a follower. A Christian disciple is a follower of God, a person
who accepts and helps to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. In this particular ESLO, I have to
demonstrate that I am a disciple of Christ. This consists in having a good understanding of Gods
plan of salvation for me. Its about knowing how well I use the skills God has given me to
become a servant leader. Also, it is about building a meaningful relationship with those close to
me by communicating biblical truth and the faith in God. I am a disciple of Christ and I reflect
this through my actions probing the four tenants of this ESLO. I have demonstrated the
following, an understanding of Gods plan of salvation, a well use of my skills to serve the
community and to set an example for others, an understanding of different worldviews, and have
built meaningful relationships.
I understand Gods plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. In John 14:6 Jesus answered, I
am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. In this
verse, we can clearly see that Jesus is speaking and he said that no one goes to the father except
through him. This is Gods plan of salvation. Some people might ask how does this work? well I
know the answer. God sent his only son Jesus to die on the cross for every single human being
with no exceptions. Ephesians 2:8 says, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith
and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. We dont deserve to be safe because we
are sinners but our God is good and he has forgiven our sins. As a Christian I believe there are a
few things we need to do in order to go to heaven. First, I believe we have to admit that we are
sinners. According to Romans 3:23 we have all sinned and have become sort of Gods glory. The
second thing is repent. In Luke 13:5 God call us to repent, I tell you, no! But unless you repent,

you too will all perish. So if we dont repent we will die but if we repent we will have eternal
life when we go to heaven. Last but not least we have to believe that Jesus died for us on the
cross, was buried, and rose from the dead.
I use my skills and talent to help the community and set an example to others. I use my
gifts, knowledge, and skills to be a servant leader in my community. An example of this, is that I
was an altar girl my freshman and sophomore year of high school. An altar girl is a lay assistant
in church services. Doing this job was really fun and it wasnt as stressing as people think it is. I
use my skills decorating and making a flower, as well as other things, in order to make church a
more enjoyable environment. A more recent example is that I am helping my community
training people to be altar girls and guys. My job is to use my talent for teaching kids to help
place this kid in an area where they will help our church and where they will develop their skills.
Another example is, the one I am currently involved the most is helping planning events for my
church. I basically am a member that says what date will be the best and I help promote the event
with a member of the church or member of other church with the same denomination. As you can
see all the events that I have listed above are all associated with a church. I have also used my
skills and gifts to be a servant leader in other areas of the community mostly during service
week.
I enjoy studying the different biblical worldviews. I am really passionate when it comes
to this topic. I am currently taking an apologetics and worldview class with Mr. Patrick, which in
the begging I thought it was going to be boring. Now to be sincere I enjoy it. I enjoy seeing what
other people believe and seeing what things I agree and what I disagree with, but what I enjoy
the most is seeing what are the arguments against those religions or believes. Three of my
favorite worldviewsare Post-Modernist, Christianity, and Naturalism. As a Christian, I like the
argumentsthat these groups of people make against Christianity. For example, if you have studied

Post-Modernism you know that no one can be completely sure what is right and wrong and any
attempt to convince others that someone opinions are right is a grab for power. A common
statement that postmodern ask is isnt the assertion that the bible is truth just an attempt to take
power over others lives? what will be a good respond to this question? Well, if the assertion that
the bible is true is a grab for power that what you are also asking is a grab for power so this way
of thinking is self-defeating. Another example, now from a naturalist point of view is a statement
that is typically made by this group. They say, well the bible isnt true because is full of
supernatural things they are referring to things such as God, resurrection, and so on. A naturalist
believes that if something cannot be proven by science it doesnt exist or it isnt right. This as
well as the statement post-modernist make is self-defeating. This statement is self-deafening
because science cant disprove miracle or prove, so science doesnt always have the answer. I
enjoy this class and this topic a lot because it helps me become more faithful every day.
Throughout my life, I have built meaningful relationships that have impacted my life in
various ways. First I have built meaningful friendships that have demonstrated an understanding
of Gods plan of salvation and have accepted him. A friend like this has impacted my life
because through hard times they have helped me be a more faithful person. A second example of
this is that I have built meaningful relationships in my job. Being a translator and member of a
group call Calvary Evangelistic Crew has allowed me to share my story with other people and
build relationships with those around me. Also, this relation I have built in this groups has
supported me. Relationships in this group have taught me that there are people in this world that
have gone through similar situations. A girl I met in this group call Hannah has gone through a
similar situation then me. Building a relationship has helped me address my problem differently
and this is thanks to her. Another example of how I have built meaningful relationship is with my
mom. If you ask me to define my relationship with her I will tell you she is more like a best

friend and mom. I think that she has showed me to communicate respectfully my personal faith
and beliefs. Respect is probably one of the things Ivalue the most and this is thanks to my mom.
I am a disciple of Christ, I am not perfect, the fact that I know I am a sinner gets me a
step closer to eternal life. I have chosen this ESLO, Disciple of Christ because it represents the
decisions I have made to become a true follower of Christ and live according to his ways. I have
experienced in many ways Gods grace, and therefore I have made the decision, to be a follower
of Christ and live according to his ways. Also, something important to remember is that, it is not
just about following God's rules, but about feeling passionate for fulfilling God's will. With this
comes taking responsibility being a disciple of Christ is definitely taking the hardest road.
Compared to the rewards that God has waiting for us you cant compare it to anything. Taking
the hardest way will satisfy you in the long run and even though I have received my reward I am
already satisfied.
